Index Support and Resistance for Wednesday, 4/20/2016

 

Below you will find the Index Support and Resistance for Wednesday, 4/20/2016 as calculated from the changes in Index points through Tuesday, 4/19/2016’s close. 
  Stocks closed mostly higher on Tuesday, with Energy and Mining Sector companies posting the biggest gains.  Technology shares lagged the rest of the market, pulling the Nasdaq Composite Index 19.69 points lower. The gains in Energy and Mining Sector  companies came as commodity prices for crude, copper and other basic materials rose.
  Tuesday, the Dow Jones Industrial Average (DJIA) gained 49.44 points, or +0.3 percent, to 18,053.60.  For the week, the DJIA is up +156.14 points, or +0.9 percent.  For Year 2016 to date, the DJIA is up +628.57 points, or +3.6 percent.
  The Standard & Poor’s 500 Index (SPX) gained +6.46 points, or +0.3 percent, to 2,100.80.  For the week, the S&P 500 is up +20.07 points, or +1 percent.  For Year 2016 to date, the S&P 500 is up +56.86 points, or +2.8 percent.
  As noted above, the Nasdaq composite index lost -19.69 points, or -0.4 percent, to 4,940.33.  For the week, the Nasdaq is up +2.12 points, or +0.04 percent.  For Year 2016 to date, the Nasdaq is down -67.08 points, or -1.3 percent.
